Everytime I exit onto sunset I look back down the road and try to remember, where was the Starwood at?

Does anybody remember?

  • The Starwood was on the Northwest corner of Santa Monica & Crescent Heights. It's now a minimall with a Russian cafĂ©, and an Indonesian imported furniture business.

      Oh, okay.
So what club was off of the sunset exit on the 101?
      I forget...
      • There was a former roller rink, might have been the Starlight if you want to go with a Star theme, wasn't exactly a club, but a number of bigger acts played there. I saw Iggy and Throbbing Gristle there at different times. I don't remember it being used as a concert venue for that long. I think it's now Home Depot. Does that sound right? The only other club off the 101 I can think of was Raji's, near the Hollywood exit.

          Yeah! That's it!
The Starlight! That's why I confused it with Starwood.
Yeah, things did happen for just a bit.
          Phew, I'm getting old...

I do remember Raji's too, vaguely. I was pretty young in the early 80's punk time. Hardcore punk started to come in. And the anti-club is a Mexican country bar now.

          Thanks.
